After hours of research, I have compiled this list of fixes for Samsung tablets that won’t turn on. You’ll also be able todo these fixes in the comfort of your own home.
Also, these fixes will work for all tablet models from the Samsung Galaxy Tab 1, 2, 3, 4, 6 and everything in between. Lets begin!
Samsung Tablet Won’t Turn On – How To Fix (7 TIPS)
1. Do a Reboot
One sure fire way to get your tablet to turn on is by doing a hard reboot. However, before doing this, ensure that your tablet has been charging for at least 15 minutes.
After your Samsung tablet has received sufficient charge, you can now initiate the reboot/restart by pressing the power button and volume down button together simultaneity for 20-30 seconds.
You can also try the power button and volume up button repeating the same process. This is done as sometimes the volume rocker buttons may stop working.
This should hopefully do this trick!
2. Let The Tablet Charge For 4 Hours Then Try Again
There have also been several reports that leaving the tablet charge for 4-5 hours then repeating the above process has also had quite a lot of success.
For this step, try and charge your Samsung Tab via a powerpoint charger as some laptops and computers do not give a significant amount of electricity for charging.
3. Try a Different Charger & Powerpoint
If nothing is still working by this point, it may be worthwhile trying to charge your tablet from another powerpoint. You can also go a step further and try a different charging cable as the one you are using may have stopped working.
Also, if you are using a power board, these can sometimes overloaded which results in your Samsung tablet not being able to turn on. Simply press the orange button in if this has happened.
4. Clean Your Samsung Tab Charge Port
Another great method to fix the Samsung Tablet won’t turn on issue is to clean the charge port of your tablet.
This is done as dirt, debris, lint and fluff can accumulate in the port which will result in the charging cable not being able to connect.
To clean your Samsung Tab charge port, using a narrow item such as a toothpick, q-tip of even sim tool are great for dislodging this unwanted gunk. You also may have to repeat this several times as there can be quite amount of build up.
5. Check Your Power Adapter & Cable
For another troubleshooting fix, it is also worthwhile to inspect your charging cable to see if there are any punctures, frays or exposed wires. If you can see any of these, it is likely that the cable itself has stopped working.
Also, if you are using a non genuine Samsung cable, these cheaper alternatives have many internal problems which can’t be seen. So a replacement may be in order.
6. Press The Back Of Samsung Tablet
Ok, so this one is a bit weird, but there has actually been some success with this fix. What you want todo is press firmly on the back of your Samsung Tab for 1-2 minutes. Focusing on the top and bottom areas seems to work best.
This is done as this is where the battery connecters are located which can sometimes become loose if you have dropped your bumped your tablet.
While this is a strange fix, it definitely is worth a try!
7. Take It To a Repair Shop
If by now none of these Samsung Tablet not turning on fixes are working, it may be worthwhile taking your device into the Samsung store or a third party repair shop. They will be able to assess if it is something else such as a dead screen which will show black or maybe even a broken charge port.
Conclusion
Hopefully one of these fixes has helped you to finally turn on your Samsung tablet. If any of these did work, please let me know down below in the comments. Also if you have created your own fix, also please share as I will be updating this article in the future!

You’re a genius!! Thank you Soooooo much for creating this website!! The press on the back of the tablet worked for me when nothing else did. I tried ALL of the first steps, switching everything out, letting it charge for hours, cleaning it (not that it was dirty or anything was broken but hey – I wanted to be sure). Finally, I pressed on it and wha-la! It worked. I’ve never seen it anywhere as a fix. You’ve saved me bunches of time and money so thank you so very much for that!! You’re awesome!!
